The New York District of the Communist Party USA is working to send a delegation to Cuba with the Venceremos Brigade (VB) this summer. Would you like to go and/or participate with organizing and fundraising efforts?
Please let us know by sending the 48th Contingent VB Application to email@example.com. If you cannot go, but would still like to be involved with the effort, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know how you would like to help out.
The Venceremos Brigade (VB) is a political education project that, since 1969, has directed its efforts toward developing solidarity with the Cuban Revolution. Despite the U.S. blockade against Cuba, the VB has sent more than 9,000 people from across the U.S., striving to send highly diverse contingents. The VB works to raise consciousness around issues related to Cuba such as democracy, social justice and the role of U.S. imperialism, while working within the larger U.S. Cuba solidarity movement and striving to strengthen its unity and broaden its influence.
The Venceremos Brigades were started by Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and Cuban officials.
This summer they are visiting Cuba for about two weeks, visiting places of interest and getting a first hand look at the current economic transformations underway across the island. They will receive lectures on the Cuban reality and will be able to exchange with the people. Sometimes, the groups have participated in some agricultural or construction work with Cuban workers.
If you would like to join the Venceremos Brigade this summer or participate with organizing and fundraising efforts, please send a 48th Contingent VB Application to email@example.com and let us know.
